ตำแหน่งงานบริหารในมหาวิทยาลัย Administrative Positions in University (เรียงจากสูงไปต่ำ in descending hierarchy)

สภามหาวิทยาลัย เรียก Board of Trustees หรือ  Board of Regents หรือ Board of Curators หรือ Board of Governors เช่น  Regents of the University of California

อธิการบดี เรียก Chancellor (Federal/State Ruler) หรือ President of a university หรือ Rector of a university or college  ถ้าเทียบกับในหนังจีน Chancellor ก็หมายถึง ขันที เพราะมีอำนาจสูงสุด (รองจากพระราชา ฮ่องเต้)

รองอธิการบดี Pro Chancellor (non-executive) หรือ Provost ซึ่งหมายถึง รองอธิการฝ่ายวิชาการ (Vice President for Academic Affairs) รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิชาการและวิจัย (Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research)

รองอธิการบดี Vice Chancellor หรือ Vice President มีหลายฝ่าย เช่น ฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิจัย รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายการเงินและทรัพย์สิน รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายกิจการนิสิตและพัฒนากายภาพ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายประกันคุณภาพ

ผู้ช่วยอธิการบดี Deputy Vice Chancellor หรือ Deputy Vice President หรือ Assistant Vice President หรือ Associate Vice President
