โชคร้าย: Tough titty/ทำดีมาก: good on ya

Tit ทิท หรือ breast บเร็ซท หมายถึง นม หน้าอก เต้านม

Tough ทัฟ หมายถึง เหนียว เคี่ยว ยาก เข้มงวดกวดขัน ยาก ฯลฯ ผู้อ่านท่านรักลูก แต่เมื่อลูกทำผิด ท่านก็ตีลูก ความรักอย่างนี้นี่แหละครับ เราเรียกว่า tough love หรือ a tough guy ก็หมายถึง คนที่เป็นนักเลงอันธพาล

Tough titty! เป็นคำอุทานที่ฝรั่งมังค่าใช้พูดกัน ให้ความหมายว่า bad luck! โชคร้าย โชคไม่ดี I told the policeman that a tough guy stopped me and took all my money. ผมบอกกับตำรวจว่า ไอ้นักเลงนั่นหยุดผมและเอาเงินไปหมดเลย ตำรวจพูดว่า "Tough titty! You shouldn't go to that area at night." โชคร้ายหน่อยนะคุณ คุณไม่น่าจะไปในเขตนั้นตอนกลางคืนเลยนะครับ

Good on ya! มาจาก good on you! เป็นวลีที่ฝรั่งใช้เมื่อต้องการชม When my daughter, Thamolwan, told me that she'd received a scholarship to study in China. ธมลวรรณบอกกับผมว่า เธอได้รับทุนให้ไปเรียนที่เมืองจีน I said ผมบอกว่า "Good on ya! You did it by yourself without my help." ทำดีมาก! ลูกช่วยตัวเองโดยที่พ่อไม่ได้ช่วย

ถ้าไม่พูดเริ่มด้วย Good on ya! ผมอาจจะพูดซะใหม่ว่า "Well done! You did it by yourself without my help."
